New tagline, images launch this month

What are Indiana University School of Medicine’s key attributes and how can the school best demonstrate those attributes?
These questions were at the heart of recent brand research conducted by the school with support from IU Communications. The research demonstrated that the school’s key targets--prospective faculty, research partners, donors and students--value collaboration, access to a diverse patient population, professional development and the livability of a medical school’s community. Those targeted for the research also reviewed various design and written concepts that put faculty and students in the forefront, teaming those images with supporting quotes. Survey respondents reacted positively to the style of images and quotes, helping shape a series of new designs for print materials and the school’s new web design--the first phase of which will launch in early November. Further, the targets also aligned on a single phrase that they felt captured the essence of IU School of Medicine: Preparing Healers. Transforming Health.
“Consistently representing our strengths as a school and doing that in a visually interesting way is vital to establishing and building our brand,” said IU School of Medicine Dean Jay Hess, MD, PhD, MHSA. “We are truly leaders in research, clinical care and education, and we are taking important steps to ensure our reputation reflects that.”
New print and digital messages featuring faculty and students will be introduced in the coming weeks and will be featured as part of the first phase of the school’s new website in early November.
