IUSM students spruce up neighborhoods during Spring House Calls

April 2, 2015

Nearly 120 IUSM medical students and their families turned gardeners-for-a-day March 28 during the 20th annual Spring House Calls, the oldest service-learning project at the IU School of Medicine.

Participants fanned out in inner-city Indianapolis neighborhoods, including Haughville and Blackburn, to perform yard work and landscaping at 35 homes around the Neighborhood Fellowship Church, 3102 E. 10th St., home of the IU Student Outreach Clinic, a free clinic opened by the students nearly eight years ago.
